Environment Institute of Australia and New Zealand (EIANZ)

All our staff are members of Environment Institute of Australia and New Zealand (EIANZ), or other professional organisations as appropriate.

EIANZ is the peak professional association for environmental practitioners with an Australia and New Zealand-wide membership in the public and private sectors. The Institute promotes environmental knowledge and advances ethical and competent practice while facilitating interaction amongst environmental professionals. It is multi-disciplinary as it was formed specifically for those working in any of the numerous aspects of environment such as management, planning, education, law, industrial operations, research and audit.

Our Director has been active in EIANZ at the local and national levels for several years.

  • ACT Division’s current President.
  • ACT Division’s Treasurer 2006 to 2009.
  • Member of the ACT Division’s Committee since 2005 (Beyond Neutral® has two of its staff on the current ACT Division’s Committee).
  • ACT CEnvP convener.
  • Chair and member of several CEnvP interview panels.
  • Active member of the Climate Change Working Group since its inception.
  • Provided significant input into the Institute’s submissions relating to the NGERS and CPRS, in particular in relation to their auditing/verification requirements.
  • EIANZ representative at the national stakeholder workshop on external audit criteria as a part of the development of NGER Act and CPRS auditor competencies.
  • Involved with the Institute’s Policy and Practice Standing Committee since 2006.
  • Drafted substantial parts of the Institute’s climate change Policy Statement and providing input and review of other Policy Statements relating to sustainability, energy, water, waste and resource consumption, and biodiversity.
  • Organised several successful seminars and workshops as a part of the Institute’s professional development service to member’s on topics covering climate change adaptation options for the built and natural environments, the latest climate change science and the international standards for environmental management with particular reference to ISO 14064 and 14065.
  • Chaired a plenary session on energy at the Institute’s 20th anniversary conference series.
